The products offered via the official Umbraco Store are also offered via the Motus Connect Store. In order for a product to be listed in the official Umbraco Store it must be reviewed by the Umbraco Package Review Group – this is not a requirement for products listed in the Motus Connect Store. Will I be able to list products in the 'official' Umbraco Store also?
Absolutely! We have intentionally aligned the terms of the Motus Connect Store with those of the 'official' Umbraco Store so that developers and publishers can list products in both locations. Why should I sell my work via the Motus Connect Store? Among other things (see below) we believe there's nothing wrong with getting paid for work you do, especially when that work is used by another individual or organization to help them meet their goals. - The Motus Connect Store directly supports the Umbraco Core Team with a 10% contribution from each sale.
- There are Umbraco users who will benefit from using your product. Your dedicated effort to create products that leverage Umbraco and extend it to myriad uses can be used by a wider audience.
- A vibrant, well-funded Umbraco community of developers will further help Umbraco adoption among Umbraco users who are not developers.
- The Motus Connect Store handles the details of selling digital products to a global user-base and provides you with a real-time view of your products listed for sale and purchases made.

But, I thought Umbraco was open-source?
It is! The Motus Connect Store supports the open-source Umbraco by contributing 10% of every sale to the Umbraco Core Team. This contribution helps the Core Team by funding further efforts to improve and enhance the core of Umbraco. What can I sell? You can sell almost any digital product that relates to Umbraco, directly or indirectly. Umbraco Packages, Umbraco Extensions, Umbraco add-ons, Umbraco specific documentation, e-books, help files, and the like, even products complementary to Umbraco such as text editors, application connectors, and many other types of products that we haven’t considered. We won’t list products for sale that violate a patent, copyright or license term, products that don’t comply with global export requirements, illegal products such as those that exploit or help to exploit people or animals of any kind, and of course you must hold the right to distribute any product listed for sale.
What does the Motus Connect Store provide? We provide a central location for Umbraco users to locate and search for products related to Umbraco, a common interface for browsing and purchasing products, and a secure, well-supported environment. We provide support for major currencies, a 10% contribution to the Umbraco Core Team, and multiple payment methods including credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers. We provide a secure download for each product sale, a unique license key for each product sale, sale and user tracking, real-time statistics, and a vendor dashboard . What is the difference between a User account and a Vendor account? A Motus Connect Store User account will allow you to: - Purchase products from the store
- Provide feedback and rate the products
- Participate in discussions and message boards
- Receive updates and special promotional offers (if you like)
A Motus Connect Store Vendor account will allow you to:
- List your products for sale
- Be paid for your sales on a monthly basis
- Leverage the only Umbraco marketplace on the web!

What happens when I create a product listing? Once you successfully create a product item listing and add (at least) the related product file we generate the required product detail records in our product database, store the related files in our secure storage area, create a unique download location, and add the file to your Vendor Dashboard. What currencies does the Motus Connect Store support? Although all products are presented for sale in EUR only we support most major currencies for both payment and distribution. We use the currency conversion rate presented by PayPal on day the transaction and never add a fee. - Via our direct payment system – with a credit or debit card:

What do I need to become a vendor? In addition to a great product you'll need to create a vendor account with us (here). You'll also need to provide a Tax ID if you're a US company or a VAT Number if you're an EU company and for us to disburse payments you'll need either a PayPal account or bank transfer information. We can also send you a payment via regular post, but this tends to take longer. Which license should I use? It’s up to you. We provide a basic End User License Agreement (EULA) which you may apply to your product or you may provide your own license. In either case we encourage you to provide an easily accessible version of your license for site users to review prior to purchasing your product. We recommend adding a license document to your product’s pre-sale area in the store. How do I include my own license version? Simply create a document containing the text of your license and add it to the pre-sale area of your product. What about license-keys?
For each completed sale we generate a unique license key that is provided to you and to the purchaser. You can use this key as your license key as-is or, if you wish, you may use it to generate your own license key.
